Concept
The objective of the project is to make a synester catalogue of languages that are available for study in Duolingo* based on the perception of their sound. All existing sounds were analysed in terms of relative soundness, and each group of sounds was turned into a simple geometric figure of its own colour to show languages as «phonetic» glass column diagrams. *Duolingo is a service for learning foreign languages in game form. The color palette used in the project is generated by the company’s brandbook.
Perceptive sound symbols

The catalogue reflects the sounds used in the language, as well as the relative difficulty of learning it — in some languages only part of these groups is present in the background. The groups ranged from the loudest vowel (red shades) to the noisy confluence (blue shades), to the agreement (s) pertaining to the dream.

The black background of the card shows that language is tonal — that is, every syllable is pronounced with a certain tone that plays a meaningful role.
