В различных культурах они часто являлись носителями особой силы, духовного смысла и связи с потусторонним миром. Камни, из которых изготавливались украшения, имели особое символическое значение. Например, в Средневековье считалось, что алмаз обладает силой защиты, а сапфир помогает в принятии мудрых решений. Эти символические значения были частью более широких верований, в которых драгоценности ассоциировались с магической защитой, удачей или исцелением.
Бриллиантовой эпохой в России называют XVIII век, когда мода на ювелирные украшения была особенно популярна благодаря императрице Елизавете Петровне. Именно она способствовала расцвету придворного ювелирного искусства, акцентируя внимание к бриллиантам и крупным цветным камням, таким как сапфиры, изумруды и рубины. Особенно востребованными были массивные серьги-жирандоли, большие броши для корсажа и сложные шпильки для пышных причесок. Особое внимание уделено работам Карла Фаберже и Иеремии Позье, работавшим на императорскую семью. Ювелирные традиции: Старинные техники, которые могут быть интерпретированы в современном дизайне. Культурное наследие: Символика, связанная с Россией: мотивы природы (снег, северное сияние), архитектуру (купола церквей) и национальные узоры.
